Ugolino Golf Club and Podere Casanova
The ondulated Chianti hills host from 1933 the natural Ugolino golf site that takes advantage in the best of ways the natural characteristics of the site, olive and cypress trees, the varius pendents that create the scenery, small greens well situated.
These are the obstacles that a golfer has to overcome in every course that belongs to the history of italian golf which test the endurance of the players.
It is not a case that at Ugolino there have been formed many strong golfers and that the courses are fun and a difficult test for players which are in the search of precision rather than strength.
Founded in the early 900 in Via Chiantigiana it has been the site of many International Open, among which the suggestive Open of 1983 won by Bernard Langer after a passionate play-off against Severiano Ballesteros and Ken Brown in a competition with players like Greg Norman, Mark James, Costantino Rocca, Baldovino Dassù and many other stars of the Euripean Tour.
